Islington St. Mary's has grown out of a youth team that was formed in 1978, and enjoyed much success in the Islington Junior League and School Tournaments.

In 1985 the team enjoyed its first major success in a men's league, winning the North London Combination Premier Division and Barnet Charity Cup. In 1996 an appearance in the Final of the Brent Cup at Wembley Stadium.

In the following years success was achieved in the Enfield Senior Cup (1989), The Islington Midweek Gazette Cup (1990), The Islington Midweek Astro Cup (1991,93) and the Islington Midweek League Premier Champions (1992,93,94).

In 1991 we merged with Walthamstow Trojans and had success in the Spartan League, winning the Spartan Intermediate Cup and the London Intermediate Cup the following year.

In 1993 we reformed in our own right as St Mary's and have enjoyed success in the London Junior Cup (1994,95,96) and promotion to the Premier Division of the London Spartan League in 1996.

1995/96 was also a vintage year year for our youth side who won Leagues at U-17, U-16 age and Cups at U-16, U-15 and U-14's.

As a club we like to encourage skilful attacking play allied to a determination to win. We are proud that Andrew Clark ( Wimbledon), Bobby Bowry (Crystal Palace and Millwall) Corrie Brown (Fulham and Stevenage) Gifton Williams (Watford and England Under 21's) and Caska Walker (Newcastle) have gone on to play at a professional level.
